No. The mandir is open to anyone, of any faith or none. A good number of our regular Sunday visitors are neighbours who came once out of curiosity and kept coming back. You will not be asked about your beliefs and nobody will attempt to convert you.

No, and there never has been. Darshan, aarti, Sunday lunch, all classes and every festival evening are free. There is a donation box by the entrance which you are entirely free to walk past.

Comfortable, modest clothing — shoulders and knees covered is plenty. Shoes are removed at the entrance, so you may prefer socks in winter; the floor is heated but only up to a point.

Yes, and they need not be quiet. There is a carpeted corner at the back of the shrine room and a classroom next door where a child can be taken if they need a break.

Yes. There is a step-free entrance on the side of the building with a ramp, an accessible washroom, and chairs at the rear of the shrine room for anyone who cannot sit on the floor. The car park is level and paved. See our accessibility statement for detail.

In the hall and on the lawn, yes. Please not during aarti and please not close-up images of the shrine itself. If you are photographing other people's children, ask their parents first.

We do not charge for the use of the mandir. Where a visiting priest travels to us, the family covers his travel and dakshina directly, and materials such as flowers, ghee and coconuts are either brought by the family or bought at cost.

For ceremonies and community gatherings connected to the congregation, yes. We do not hire the hall out commercially, and we do not permit alcohol, meat or amplified music after 22:00 on the premises out of respect for our neighbours.

No. Not for tuition, materials or the end-of-year concert. Teaching is by volunteer parents and older students. Registration is simply a matter of turning up at 09:30 with your child on any Saturday during term.

Yes. You do not need to be a member, a Hindu, or in financial difficulty. Sit down, and a plate will arrive. Serving begins at 12:30 and continues until the pots are empty.

All food is vegetarian and egg-free. Nut-free and gluten-free portions are prepared separately and set on a labelled table. However, we cook in a shared domestic kitchen and cannot guarantee the absence of traces. If your allergy is severe, please speak to the kitchen coordinator before eating.

No. We deliberately do not process payments online. Donations are made in person at the mandir or arranged directly by telephone or email. Please see our Donation & Refund Policy.

Never. If you receive such a call, it is not from us. Please report it to us so we can warn the congregation.

If you email or call us, we keep only what is needed to answer you. We do not sell, rent or share personal data for marketing, and we do not run advertising trackers on this website. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

The trustee keeps the accounts and the figures are read aloud at an open meeting held twice a year, in January and July, which any member of the congregation may attend. The donation box is opened by two people together.
