Accessibility

1. Our commitment

We want the mandir and this website to be usable by everybody, including people who use a wheelchair, have low vision, are hard of hearing, or find sitting on the floor difficult. We are a volunteer trust with limited funds, so we improve things as we can afford them — but we will always tell you honestly where we stand.

2. The building

• Step-free entrance with a ramp on the left-hand side of the building, with a bell.
• Level, paved parking with a marked accessible bay adjacent to the ramp.
• Accessible washroom with a widened door and grab rails.
• Chairs at the rear of the shrine room for anyone who cannot sit on the floor.
• Wide internal doorways and no internal steps.
• Assistance animals are welcome throughout the building.

Known limitations: we do not currently have a hearing loop, and the lawn becomes uneven after heavy rain. If you tell us in advance that you are coming, a volunteer will meet you at the ramp and stay with you.

3. This website

The site has been built to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as closely as we are able. Specifically:

• Semantic HTML structure with a single main heading per page and a skip-to-content link.
• Every meaningful image carries descriptive alternative text.
• Colour contrast checked against WCAG AA thresholds for body and heading text.
• All functionality operable by keyboard, with visible focus outlines.
• Text resizes to 200% without loss of content or function.
• Animation is suppressed automatically for visitors whose system requests reduced motion.
• No auto-playing audio or video anywhere on the site.

4. Reporting a barrier

If any part of this website or our building prevents you from doing something, please tell us: info@shrikhodiyarmandirtrust.website or (303) 501-5481. Describe the problem and, if it is a web page, tell us which one. We will acknowledge within 5 working days and tell you what we can do and when.

5. Alternative formats

We will happily read out any page of this site over the telephone, or provide printed material in a larger typeface. Just ask.
